Cat Haven officially opened it's new feline shelter on December 14, 2008 with an open house event. It is a beautiful facility dedicated to the felines in our care awaiting their "forever homes". We are so very proud of the first phase of this amazing shelter and the opportunities that it brings to our organization. Click here to see a "photo story" of the transformation of the building that we purchased at the beginning of 2008 into a fun, colorful retreat for our adult felines who are awaiting that special person or family to give them a permanent address to call home. | Microchips For Felines In 2009 |
There is exciting news at Cat Haven! We are now microchipping all cats and kittens in our adoption program. Although
this change means an adjustment in our adoption fee, which will now be $90, this procedure is priceless as an added measure of protection for your beloved
cat. If by a stroke of misfortune, your cat is lost, the tiny microchip implanted in the feline will provide a way for your furry family member to make it
safely back home. The cats can be located through their registration with 24 PetWatch. East Baton Rouge Animal Control scans all animals that come into their facility and Cat
Haven will be called if your cat is picked up. What a great program to kick off our 10th anniversary here at Cat Haven!
