Executive Director

Holly Carey will be joining the Cat Haven team as the Executive Director starting on November 1, 2021, and we could not be more excited! Holly brings to Cat Haven more than 30 years of experience as a registered veterinary technician from both the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and private veterinary practice in Baton Rouge. Although she has worked with many species of animals in her career, Holly has a special passion for cats and has two of her own, along with two dogs, a leopard gecko, and two teenage boys. Holly is an active member of the animal welfare community, having previously served other local non-profits on the board of directors and in a volunteer capacity. Holly enjoys live music, relaxing at the beach, and time with her two sons and their menagerie of pets.

Shelter Manager

MJ, a native of New Orleans, is a 23-year-old LSU student who is working towards an undergraduate degree in psychology. She has a 2-year-old cat at home named Nova. She was a rescue from Cat Haven! When MJ isn't working, she enjoys playing the piano and ukulele, reading, and playing video games. Her favorite thing about working at Cat Haven is that she gets to help make a difference in the lives of so many cats who are in unfortunate situations.

Graylin, 29, is a graduate of LSU who is currently at BRCC to become a licensed vet tech! She started working at Cat Haven in May 2021. Prior to working at Cat Haven, Graylin was a kennel tech and was accustomed to working with dogs. She loves cats and has one at home named Tulips. As an Animal Care Specialist, Graylin assists our shelter manager with tasks and helps care for our felines!

Animal Care Specialist

Marlana is an Animal Care Specialist, and she does an outstanding job working with the cats and kittens to make sure they are all well cared for and loved, as well as volunteering her time "upgrading" our facilities with her incredible work ethic! She has two grown children, 25 & 28, 5 inside cats, 3 dogs inside, and 5 cats outside that people dropped off that she cares for. There is not a time during the day or in Marlana's life where she's not around animals!
