HOLLY CAREY
Executive Director​

​

Holly Carey joined the Cat Haven team as the Executive Director on November 1, 2021. Holly brings to Cat Haven more than 30 years of experience as a registered veterinary technician from both the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and private veterinary practice in Baton Rouge. Although she has worked with many species of animals in her career, Holly has a special passion for cats and has three of her own, along with two dogs, a leopard gecko, and two teenage boys. Holly is an active member of the animal welfare community, having previously served other local non-profits on the board of directors and in a volunteer capacity. Holly enjoys live music, relaxing at the beach, and time with her two sons and their menagerie of pets.

BRIANA TUMMINELLO
Operations Director​

Briana, 26, is a Louisiana native who cares deeply for animals. She recently graduated from LSU with a degree in Animal Science. She has her own rescue cat at home named Stella. Briana came to Cat Haven to learn more about felines and to advocate for those who don't have an owner to advocate for them! Briana started working for Cat Haven as an Animal Care Specialist and was recently promoted to Shelter Manager. Briana will also be taking over as Volunteer Coordinator.

MARY RUBENSTEIN
Shelter Manager​

MJ, a native of New Orleans, is a 25-year-old LSU student who is working towards an undergraduate degree in psychology. She has a 4-year-old cat at home named Nova. She was a rescue from Cat Haven! When MJ isn't working, she enjoys playing the piano and ukulele, reading, and playing video games. Her favorite thing about working at Cat Haven is that she gets to help make a difference in the lives of so many cats who are in unfortunate situations.

TOBAN THOMPSON
Adoption Manager​

Before moving to Baton Rouge in October 2021, Toban lived in Seattle. He loves cats and began working at Cat Haven to help make a difference and positively impact animals' lives. As the Adoption Manager, Toban is responsible for getting to know the different personalities of all our rescues so that he can match them with happy, forever homes and review adoption applications to ensure the cats go to loving homes. Toban has 3 cats of his own - Piper, an 11-year-old orange tabby, Quincy, 3.5-year-old flame-point Siamese, and Cat Haven alumni, Oslo! In his free time, he likes to read and write and is not adverse to a glass of wine from time to time.

MACIE HAND
Animal Care Specialist​

Macie is a Denham Springs native going to Baton Rouge Community College to be a Vet Tech. She has seven rescue cats who all pile in the bed on top of her while she sleeps. Talk about a snuggly bedtime! When she’s not taking care of her fur babies or pet-sitting, she likes to go to concerts, listen to music, and write.

CARLEY HARRELL
Animal Care Specialist

Carley is extremely passionate about senior cats and animal welfare in general. She is currently studying at Baton Rouge Community College for Veterinary Medicine and plans to attend LSU. Carley and her sister have 5 cats together. Carley is also involved in TNR (Trap, Neuter or Spay, and Release) in the community, focusing on getting community cats fixed. In her spare time, Carley likes to paint and create art pieces.

NICOLE MULKEY
Animal Care Specialist

Nicole is a Zachary native who moved to Baton Rouge. She is currently a Psychology major at LSU. in her free time, she enjoys watching tv and lounging with her cats.
