HOW CAN I VOLUNTEER AT CAT HAVEN?

Below is a list of the various volunteer roles we have at Cat Haven.

No matter who you are, we have some way that you can help!

ADOPTION CENTER CARETAKERS

Adoption Center Caretakers provide a nurturing, clean, and comfortable temporary home at Cat Haven for our cats prior to adoption.  This includes cleaning of cat rooms, providing food and water, monitoring the health of each cat, and providing socialization for the cats.

DAILY HELPERS

Daily Helpers clean the kitty items that accumulate at the Cat Haven Adoption Center during the week:  carriers, bowls, litter boxes, laundry, toys, etc.  They also clean empty cages to prepare for incoming residents and make time for some cat cuddling.

CAT TRANSPORTERS

Cat Transporters provide safe, reliable transportation for our kitties. This may include trips to or from the vet or one of our off-site adoption centers.

CAT HAVEN EMCEE

Cat Haven Emcee Volunteers will greet and communicate the Adoption Center rules to all visitors. To make sure visitors are abiding by our rules, the Emcee will monitor all visitors, as well. They will also help start the adoption process by handing out adoption applications to those who have chosen what kitty they want to adopt.

MATCHMAKER
KITTY CONCIERGE

Our Kitty Concierge builds relationships with potential adopters and assist them in finding cats that are a good match for their home and lifestyle. This includes educating adopters about Cat Haven’s guidelines and completing applications and other related paperwork.  Volunteers may also assist with set-up or takedown of adoption materials at off-site locations. (Must be at least 18 years old)

KITTY COUNSELORS

Looking for a way to help that is a little less physical and involves MORE time with the cats? Consider volunteering as a Kitty Counselor! This position is important as it helps socialize the more timid felines and helps them find their forever families!

ADMINISTRATIVE HELP

Looking for a way to help that is a little less physical? Becoming an administrative volunteer helps Cat Haven to stay on top of its many duties. This position helps scan documents, input information into computers, and other clerical work.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Special Event volunteers assist with planning and carrying out special events (holiday open houses, fundraising gala, etc.) Volunteers also interact with event attendees and offer whatever help is needed during the event.

Matchmakers get to know our cats and potential adopters so that they can help families find a perfect fit for their lifestyle.
