ADOPTION CENTER CARETAKERS
Adoption Center Caretakers provide a nurturing, clean, and comfortable temporary home at the Cat Haven Adoption Center for our cats prior to adoption. This includes cleaning of cat rooms, providing food and water, monitoring the health of each cat, and providing socialization for the cats. This position requires a regular weekly commitment; volunteers are assigned to the same day each week with a morning or evening shift. (Must be at least 21 years old)
Offsite Caretakers at PetSmart and Petco provide daily care of the cats at our offsite adoption centers. This includes cleaning of cages, providing food and water, monitoring the health of each cat and providing socialization for each cat.
(Must be at least 18 years old)
Matchmakers build relationships with potential adopters and assist them in finding cats that are a good match for their home and lifestyle. This includes educating adopters about Cat Haven’s guidelines and completing applications and other related paperwork. Volunteers may also assist with set-up or takedown of adoption materials at off-site locations. (Must be at least 18 years old)
Daily Helpers clean the kitty items that accumulate at the Cat Haven Adoption Center during the week: carriers, bowls, litter boxes, laundry, toys, etc. They also clean empty cages to prepare for incoming residents and make time for some cat cuddling. Other duties may include cat transportation.
Cat Transporters provide safe, reliable transportation for our kitties. This may include trips to or from the vet or one of our off-site adoption centers.
Special Event volunteers assist with planning and carrying out special events (holiday open houses, fundraising gala, etc.) Volunteers also interact with event attendees and offer whatever help is needed during the event.
LSU SPAY DAY
LSU Spay Day Volunteers help to facilitate the flow of animals through the clinic at the LSU Vet School. Other duties may include animal registration, helping with meals for the volunteers, set-up and takedown, and cleaning up at the conclusion of the day.
